Narberth Canoe Club was formed in 1992. It is a voluntary club run by its members and has grown from about 20 members to over 70 with about 60 active paddlers. It caters for recreational kayakers and canoeists. During the winter we hold club sessions at Narberth Swimming Pool on Wednesday evenings throughout the school term from 8-9.30pm. In addition we have regular outdoor trips at weekends; these vary from flat water paddles at Creswell Quay to sea paddles around the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and some river and surf paddles for the more adventurous. We have also played canoe polo and taken part in the adult and junior Welsh leagues.

We are lucky to currently have 3 level 2 coaches and a level 2 trainee; this enables us to have a strong junior membership starting from 9 years of age. Our pool sessions are generally divided into 3 groups of 8 giving everyone a boat for a full ½ an hour and allowing us to separate the groups by ability.

The club owns two Canadian canoes and a large variety of kayaks, including polo boats for the pool sessions. The boats can also be hired by club members who are at two star level.
